问路(wènlù)- Asking Directions

Asking for directions in mandarin Chinese is an important and very practical skill living in China. In this episode of Speak Chinese Series, you will listen to a dialogue about two people asking for and giving directions in Chinese.

nǐhǎo, qǐnɡwèn dào zhōnɡɡuó yínhánɡ zěnme zǒu?

A:你好,请问 到 中国银行 怎么 走?

Hello, where is the Bank of China please?


yánzhe zhètiáo lù zǒu, ɡuò liǎnɡɡè lùkǒu, xiànɡ yòu ɡuǎi, jiù dàole.

B:沿着 这条 路 走, 过 两个 路口, 向 右 拐, 就到了。

Go along this road, turn right after two crossings. And there you are.


lí zhèlǐ yuǎnmɑ?

A:离 这里 远吗?

Is it far from here?


yǒudiǎn’r yuǎn, nǐ kěyǐ zuò ɡōnɡjiāochē.

B:有点儿 远, 你 可以 坐 公交车。

A little. You can take a bus.


ɡōnɡjiāo zhàn zài nǎ’r?

A:公交站 在 哪儿?

Where is the bus station?


jiùzài mǎlù duìmiàn.

B:就在 马路 对面。
